Writing can be a valuable tool for processing and healing from childhood trauma. It allows individuals to express emotions, gain self-awareness, and build a narrative of their experiences. Narratives are essential to assimilating and integrating life experiences. When we remember, we re-member: We gather pieces of our life story, impose meaning, and reconstruct self. Unsurprisingly, narrative writing allows us to regain authorship of our own lives and heal from existential pain. This workshop focuses upon lessons and practices that unlock the stories hidden within and uncover the language that speaks of our inner selves. Participants will interact with prompts and activities that encourage self-reflection, healing, and clarity of thought.
