Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the Lost Sparrows Trauma Conference be held this year?

The Trauma Conference will be held on the beautiful campus of Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. We are thankful that the college is partnering with Lost Sparrows to host the conference. We hope you will take time during the weekend to explore the campus and the shops in The Village, which is a quick walk from the campus.

Who is this conference best suited for?

The conference will provide a weekend of encouragement, education and connection as you get to know others seeking to learn more about the effects of trauma. Working with children with challenging behaviors can be exhausting. Foster parents, adoptive parents, educators, caregivers, social workers and anyone wanting to learn about trauma and its effects on children should attend. Also, if you are an adult that is looking to learn about the effects of trauma in your own life, we welcome you to attend.

We have different tracks built that include themes and content specifically designed for foster/adoptive parents, child welfare professionals, educators, caregivers, and individuals wanting to learn more about trauma and its effects.

What topics will be covered?

There will be many topics discussed, including attachment issues, challenging behaviors, trauma parenting, depression, suicide, helping victims of abuse, addiction, self care, co-regulation, and caregiver burnout. We will have 30 breakout sessions to choose from over the two days.

Can I join virtually?

At this time, we will not be offering a virtual option to attend the conference.

Will the content be the same as last year’s conference?

This year’s conference will include many new speakers and over 30 breakout sessions. The content will be very different from our 2021 Trauma Conference. Our theme is "The Ripple Effect" and our speakers will be sharing from their diverse backgrounds and experiences on the effects of trauma and how we help children that have experienced adversity early in life.

Can I volunteer?

Yes! We would love for you to volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering at the Trauma Conference, please email rachel@lostsparrows.org for more details and information on how to sign up.

Are there discounts available?

Yes!

Group Tickets: When you register a group of 10 or more people, you can receive a group discount. Please email info@lostsparrows.org for more information about group tickets.

If you or your business become a Trauma Conference Sponsor, there are sponsor tickets available at each level of sponsorship. Please visit our sponsors page for more information on becoming a sponsor.

Are children allowed at the conference?

We ask that children (excluding infants) not attend as the conference is not designed for young children. The content that will be presented is designed for adults and we feel that this is a great opportunity for parents to learn about trauma and its effects on children.

Will there be CEU credits offered?

Yes! Indiana DCS has approved our conference for licensed foster families to receive training hours. If you have questions regarding your state's approval for CEU credits, please contact info@lostsparrows.org.

What COVID-19 precautions will be taken at the conference?

The safety and health of everyone at the Trauma Conference is a top priority.

We encourage all participants to understand and consider the current CDC recommendations and ask that all participants fully comply with local health guidelines.
