In 2021, Lost Sparrows hosted our first annual conference on developmental trauma. Two hundred and fifty people sat through a long, but encouraging and informative day of speakers addressing various issues surrounding trauma. We felt like it was a great start, but we could do better. So we are excited to share that we are hosting our second annual Trauma Conference this October 14-15 in Winona Lake, Indiana.

Lost Sparrows Trauma Conference is designed for foster/adoptive parents, teachers, or anyone who works with children.

This conference will provide a weekend of encouragement, education and connection as you get to know others seeking to learn more about the effects of trauma.

Working with children with challenging behaviors can be exhausting. Foster parents, adoptive parents, educators, caregivers, social workers and anyone wanting to learn about trauma and its effects on children should attend.

This conference will have a spiritual component. However, we understand that not everyone will hold these same values and we hold the deepest respect for those of who may choose to worship differently or not worship at all. We just humbly ask for a spirit of understanding and perhaps even openness. Over the days we spend learning together, we will pray some prayers and we would invite you to join along and pray with us, if you're comfortable, or feel free to just sit by respectfully if that's more your style.

“They have revolutionized the way trauma parenting is introduced to families.”
Christy Irons

What previous attendees had to say...

Thank you so much! I loved the focus on the caregivers/adults being aware of what their "stuff" is so that we can be prepared to help regulate and hold space when kiddos are struggling.
We really enjoyed the format of this. You kept us involved. Very good information that was passed on. We feel more confident and made some contacts.
Amazing speakers, genuinely good information, and well organized. I am ready for the next one and will be bringing others with me. Thank you for all of the hard work!

This is an in-person conference. We are working on our technical capabilities to stream the event. At this time, we cannot guarantee a virtual experience.

We understand that people may have concerns with COVID-19, however, we believe an in-person event will be more impactful than a virtual event. We will be following state-recommended guidelines throughout the conference.
