The Unseen Journey: How Our Grief Shapes the Way We Support Theirs

10:15am – 11:30am on Friday 9/5
Grief is not just something we move past—it’s something we carry. In this interactive workshop, participants will be invited to pause and reflect on their own grief stories—past and present—and explore how unsupported or unacknowledged grief can shape how we show up for the children in our care. Together, we will create a personal "grief path" to better understand how grief impacts our identity, reactions, and relationships. Then, we will take a closer look at the grief experienced by children in foster care and adoption—how it shows up, how it is often misunderstood, and how we can compassionately and practically support them through it. Grounded in the belief that brokenness is not something to escape but something to walk through, this session will offer space for personal insight, connection, and sustainable hope.
